It occurred to me I also know quite a bit about beer. And beer is social (and an ever-expanding cultural phenom), so it’s totally applicable for this blog.
I’ll start right off with Founders’ Dirty Bastard, a Scotch ale (one of my favorite styles). As a brewery, I find Founders makes all-around awesome beer, especially their Breakfast Stout, which is the best in existence. This ale is dusky amber in color, with an earthy aroma that follows through in taste, with a nod to the peaty liquor. Seven types of malts make it wonderfully rich, but it isn’t too filling. I found it much more drinkable than most Scotch ales, but still interesting. 8.5% ABV.
